I was in the beauty shop earlier this week getting my nails done and I saw another client getting her hair done. The finished product was really something and I just had to take a picture.

Black Female Love Interests in Country Music Videos....or lack thereof

When you look at country music videos, you might see a Black woman but she's usually an extra in the background. Nothing wrong with that. But I'm not concerned about just the overall presence of Black people in country music videos, because you do see that. (Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here" and Toby Keith's "I Wanna Talk About Me" ) But you never see the Black woman being the love interest, she's usually one of the background people or the friend of the love interest. The first argument will probably be that Black people don't listen to country music. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!! Lots of Black people listen to it especially when we want a break from the "bitches and hoes" that is sometimes heard in rap music. In case you didn't already know, Black people not only listen to country music, but they sing it too. Look at C

Some respect would be nice!

I'm a grad student at Alabama A&M. Sometimes I use the computer labs on campus to check my email work on an assignment or whatever. What I find annoying is how students come in here and talk all loud and just have no respect for the people who are in here trying to focus on their work. If they need to talk, why can't they step outside, or at least try to whisper so that they aren't disturbing everyone else? I realize that many of them of are much younger than me, some fresh out of highschool, so the maturity level is not there. But it just really aggravates me. They can see that they are not the only ones in here, so decent home-training should tell them to have some respect!!
